Our journey continued from Croatia to Budapest, Hungary, a 3 hour drive.
Budapest is the capital of Hungary. It is situated on the Danube river on the Panonic plain. The city has two sides Buda and Pest, situated on the two river bancs, and connected by several bridges. In the Middle Ages the country seat was Buda which was situated on the top of a hill where the first hungarian kings found a good view over the area. Pest instead was a commercial burg across the river. The two sides of the river were connected for the first time by a permanent bridge in the mid 19th century. Also at that time the city Budapest was formed through the union of the two old towns Buda and Pest. Viewing the photo-album: To navigate through the photo-album use up and down arrows.
